Hardly exciting, but very, very useful.

The original Asus AC53 from a few years ago was a full sized USB Wi-Fi adaptor, now it’s tiny, and has MU-MIMO technology packed in. There are a great many USB Wi-Fi choices and the pros and cons of this one are readily apparent. Because it’s so very small, poking a mere 8mm of itself out, once inserted, the antennas are also very small. Performance in the same room as the router was excellent and well within 802.11ac expectations, but fell away as it was moved around the house and walls started to get in the way. So, use it within its limitations and it will do its job.

The other plus is MU-MIMO, which allows for greater overall performance in Wi-Fi zones serving more than one user. MU-MIMO will deliver uninterrupted service even if several people are using the network simultaneously (and have MU-MIMO devices, or a dongle like this).

At $59 it’s not exactly expensive, and offers a lot, provided you don’t stray too far from the signal.
